Finally, this will also be the perfect opportunity to discover the Alliance Française’s new café, a project born from a simple yet essential desire: to create a place for living, gathering, connecting, and sharing for the Amis de l’Alliance community. Alliance Française new café ‘Madeleine’

Now open from Tuesday to Friday 8.45am-2pm and Saturday 9am-4pm

Designed for Alliance Française Friends & their guests. Get your Annual Subscription today!

Madeleine, named after the iconic little French sponge cake so dear to Marcel Proust, is our new café, fully managed by Alliance Française, only serving products by identified and preferred partner companies. To start with, it will offer a sweet menu featuring hot & soft drinks and French delicacies (madeleines, croissants, chouquettes…). In the future, the menu will expand to include savory lunch options and extended opening hours into the evening, in line with our evening classes.
This is an evolving project that will grow based on your feedback and needs!

Much more than just a café, Madeleine is first and foremost designed as a fully French experience, tailor-made for our community:
Un lieu de rencontre: The primary goal is to encourage social interaction among our community – students, staff, Amis de l’Alliance and their guests, visitors, and partners. It’s a space for socializing and co-working, perfect for studying or preparing before class.
Un lieu de culture: Fully adaptable, the space will be integrated to the Alliance’s offerings, with activities linked to classes (language workshops, cooking classes, school visits, school holiday camps…), the cultural programme (talks, debates, screenings, workshops, concerts…), and The French Library services (press corner, books, access to Culturethèque platform, music playlists…).
Un lieu d’exposition with quarterly photography exhibitions tied to our themes.
Une place de marché with our upcoming Épicerie (grocery corner) offering a selection of French products.
Un lieu en partage with the possibility for identified partners to use the venue for their own activities.

Hope to see you there!
