Whatever your goal is - career, tourism, exams preparation, culture …  the next rugby World cup (in France), the Olympic games (also in France!) or just for fun, whatever your level is: beginners, intermediate or advanced, Alliance Française is THE destination for a truly French experience! We offer group lessons, private tuition, corporate courses either onsite in our beautiful heritage premises, in your company or online.
We are delighted to have relaunched new courses and workshops this year such as A Petits Pas for toddlers, Halloween camp for bilingual children, as well as tailor-made courses for primary and secondary schools and “French for businesses”.

Our team of expert teachers Alice, Anne, Aude, Aurore, Catherine (x2), Cécile, Christine, Cloé, Corinne, Dalia, Elodie, Laurence, Léa, Ludivine, Marie-Annick, Marie-Odile, Patricia, Rachel, Raphaële, Séverine, Sophie, Véronique, Vincent will accompany you in your learning and your journey into the French language.

We are particularly happy to welcome in our team our new director of courses Alexandre Allais who comes from Alliance Française Paris and Béatrice Chrétien our exams manager who comes from France Education International and who is also in charge of our famous Joutes Oratoires.

Short Intensive French Courses
New from October 24th   

We are adding more classes in our Autumn Term from October 24th: Try our Intensive French courses that allow you to cover the same content in just a couple of months! Intensive courses are 2 hours twice a week over 4 weeks (16 hours) and are available from level A1 to C1 every 4 weeks throughout the year!

Opéra Up-close: William Tell
Tuesday 11th October – 7pm

Opéra Up-Close is a new series of talks in partnership with Irish National Opera that give you the opportunity to discover or learn more about these operas and meet those who bring these works to life on stage.
For the first edition, we proud to present Rossini’s epic masterpiece William Tell. Famous for its energetic overture, this opera, written in French, premiered in Paris in 1829 and was last performed in Dublin in 1877. Join us and find out what this opera is all about with an introduction to the music and text of William Tell followed by a roundtable discussion by Diego Fasciati, Executive Director of Irish National Opera, with Julien Chavaz (Director), Fergus Sheil (Conductor & Artistic Director of Irish National Opera), Alixe Durand Saint Guillain (Assistant Director), Brett Polegato (Baritone) and Máire Flavin (Soprano).

The French Library's activities

Resuming from October 18th
The French Library is resuming all its weekly onsite workshops, including Toddlers' Time, and Les Contes du samedi matin. Admission is free and no booking is required!

Workshop with Mark Majewski

Saturday 29th October – 11am
To celebrate his new picture book, award-winning French illustrator and author Marc Majewski is will be at The French Library for a very special workshop for children 4 to 9 years old.

Alliance Française Choir

Wednesday 5th October – 1pm
Join the AFChoir! Rehearsals are held every Wednesday 1pm-2pm from October 5th, in view of the annual Christmas Concert in December.

Soirée Jeux / Board Game Evening

Wednesday 12th October – 6pm
The French Library's monthly Soirée Jeux is back! Let’s gather the board game community for a fun night open to everyone, regardless of their level of French. All games are provided!

The French Library's Matinée

Saturday 22nd October – 12pm
The French Library's Matinée Screenings are informal, walk-in family film screenings, this month showcasing Joann Sfar's Petit Vampire adapted from his comis books series.

À bout de souffle

Thursday 27th October – 6.30pm
Join us on-site every month for a subtitled screening of a must-see French classic film. This month, we have picked the iconic À bout de souffle (1960) in tribute to the late Jean-Luc Godard.

'Conversation Littéraire' Workshop

2 hours a week over 4 weeks
In this specialised French course, analyse and discuss French texts including recent novels by Maylis Besserie and Alice Zeniter.

Facebook Live Series: Áine Ní Ghlinn

Tuesday 18th October – 6pm
Join us every month for our Facebook Live Series ! Next up, Irish writer and journalist Áine Ní Ghlinn will read from her poem Mise Leis and her recent novel I Mo Chroí Istigh.

Défi Inter-AF Student Competition

Tuesday 25th October – 7pm
The Alliance Française Irish Network takes part in the worldwide Défi Inter-AF: Challenge AF students from other countries and win a stay in France! Register before October 20th.
