April 2020 #164

Édito

Like all the families and communities to whom we belong the Alliance Française family finds our daily routine in temporary suspension for the wider public good.  Slowing the insidious spread of a highly infectious virus is a personal imperative and a civic responsibility.  We are reminded at a time like this of our common humanity, our shared vulnerability and our strength through solidarity. On behalf of our board I wish to pay tribute to our Director and all our staff for their rapid and effective transition from their regular to a virtual work environment. This permits us to maintain contact online with those of you, our esteemed patrons, who have the technical means and the desire to continue with your language studies and to access our extensive digital library resources. This virtual community for us is a new expression of the togetherness that binds us to each other. I thank all of you for your continued support. Stay safe and well and may our loved ones and we each find a safe passage through the eye of this raging viral storm.

Pat Cox, President of the Board of Directors, Alliance Française Dublin, board@alliance-francaise.ie
