What a year it has been for
The French Library!
We have set new records on every level (members, visitors, loans, school tours,
animations, workshops, cultural events), released an acclaimed "Digital
Parenting" guide, and created many new recurring events – most of which you can
attend this month: Board Game evening, Escape Game, Sieste Musicale, Digital
Library Support, Cinéclub, Reading Challenge for children and, newly added,
"Trico-thé" a knitting club for our senior users! Our Christmas Special is also
returning this year on Saturday 7 December with free games, arts & crafts and
screenings for the whole family.
To keep up with all these activities, follow us on our new
Facebook and
Instagram pages!
The French Library and the entire Alliance
Française Dublin team take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy festive
season! Joyeuses fêtes !

Escape Game |
Thursday 28 November – 6.30pm
Admission free

We are thrilled to invite you to a
very special screening of
Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr
Jekyll & Mr Hyde silent
version directed by John S.
Robertson, accompanied by a
live soundtrack performed by
Zone Libre.
The French duo comprising the
legendary musicians
Serge Teyssot-Gay
(Noir Désir, Interzone) and
Cyril Bilbeaud (Sloy) is back
with a new project commissioned by
the prestigious
Cité de la
Musique.
After F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu
(1922) and Robert Wiene's The
Cabinet of Caligari (1919),
they have decided to soundtrack
Dr Jekyll et Mr Hyde in
its iconic version by John S.

Have
you ever tried an "escape game"? Inspired by video games, this
physical adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles
and
riddles to get out of a room has become one of the most popular social
activities in both the US and Europe.
The
French Library staff desperately needs your
help to lift the curse of a ghost that has been haunting the place! You
will have 60 minutes to solve puzzles in French using clues and
hints left by the ghost!
