French Embassy, one of
the highlights of the
International Literature Festival
Dublin 2019,
"Speak Up, Speak Out", a panel interview of Adélaïde Bon
and Louise O’Neill chaired by journalist and

French

a new and important voice in the #MeToo conversation.
At nine, she was sexually assaulted by a stranger. It was
twenty-three years before anyone was charged with her
assault. Written with poise and passion, her debut novel

rage, and fear - and offers hope for healing. Award-winning
Irish author Louise O’Neill’s most recent novel,

In 1944,
Marguerite Duras (Mélanie Thierry) and her
husband, writer Robert Antelme, are Resistance
members in Nazi-occupied Paris. When he is deported by
the Gestapo, she becomes friendly with French collaborator
Rabier (Benoît Magimel) to gain information at
considerable risk to her underground cell.
Through subtly expressionistic images and voiceover
passages from Duras' writing, Emmanuel Finkiel's
adaptation of La Douleur evokes the inner
world of one of the 20th century's most revolutionary
writers.

Starting as the
quintessential independent
singer/songwriter of the early
1990's
Dominique A
gained national and international
recognition, critical acclaim
and many prestigious awards over the
past 20 years. He has collaborated with many
artists such as Françoiz Breut,
Jeanne Balibar, Jane Birkin, and
Étienne Daho, and has influenced many
others. His movement away from the
constraints of chanson paved
the way for a whole new generation of
musicians and showed how it was possible
to use the French language in the
alternative pop/rock genre. Albums such
as La Fossette (1992)
and La mémoire neuve (1995)
are today regarded as classics.
Organised by
AMOPA Irlande
(Association des Membres de l’Ordre des
Palmes Académiques) in partnership with
Alliance Française
Dublin
and with the support of the
French Embassy.
